Outdoor Adventure Activity In New Zealand, (Shotover Jet)

After the exhilarating jump from about 350ft, we got back in the van and went back to the AJ Hackett depot for a complimentary beer and compared stories and photos with the other idiots.

That afternoon we were booked to go on the infamous shotover jet-boat. We got there early to get a front seat. We got there that early we got to watch the group in front of us go. It looked like some awesome fun. Anyway our time came, we had a bit of a safety check first, chucked on the life jackets, jumped in the boat, and off we went. The pilot warned us to keep our hands in the boat at all times, ( someone was killed a few weeks before we got there, by sticking their head outside the boat) and that was great advice. That pilot was bloody nuts. He was going bloody fast, (not sure how fast) and was weaving in and out of those solid rock walls, like a skier on a downhill slalom. I reckon if there was another coat of paint on that boat, we would have hit it. The ride came to an end when the pilot goes flat knackers, (really fast) then throws the boat into a 360 degree turn, and if he hadn’t warned everyone to hold on, he would’ve thrown everyone into the drink (river).

After a day of outdoor adventure activity in New Zealand, my wife an I went out for dinner. We found a place called the fishbone. The food was awesome. If you like seafood, the fishbone has got the best food in town. That is saying something too, because Queenstown is loaded with awesome restaurants.

If your looking for some fun outdoor adventure activity in New Zealand, you have to go to Queenstown. Cheers.
