If you are planning on driving and have never driven on the left side of the road before, please be very careful. I even find it hard to get used to when I first get there. Hitchiking also used to be very popular in NZ, but i've never done it, so I wouln't suggest it. Have an awesome trp. I want to backpack and maybe rent a car and kind of live out of it while I'm exploring. I fly into Aukland and my friend is in Queenstown so I will also need the car to get from a to b, doing my camping along the way. I just started researching places to check out.
