When my wife and I go home, she always takes coupons for the major rental car companies. If you are planning on driving and have never driven on the left side of the road before, please be very careful. I even find it hard to get used to when I first get there. Hitchiking also used to be very popular in NZ, but i've never done it, so I wouln't suggest it.
Have an awesome trp.

I am about to go to nz for christmas break to visit a friend. I want to backpack and maybe rent a car and kind of live out of it while I'm exploring. I fly into Aukland and my friend is in Queenstown so I will also need the car to get from a to b, doing my camping along the way. I just started researching places to check out. Any advice on finding a deal for renting a car? (Or other inexpensive ways to see the country?)
Thanks
