New Zealand Vacation
OK, so maybe you’re not a crazy adrenalin junkie. I have talked so much about how great New Zealand is for the people looking for a rush, that definitely does not mean it’s not for us normal people. When planning New Zealand vacations you first need to figure out what it is you want to see and do. If you love to look at the snowy mountains, and enjoy the cold, you should think about going between the months of April, and September . You can go on a wine trail and taste the local wines. Maybe you just like to admire the beauty of some untouched territory. So get a map and ask the friendly locals where the nicest drives are, and if they don’t offer to drive you there themselves, they will definitely tell you where to go. There are prize winning opportunities if you’re the keen photographer. Whether it is wildlife indigenous to New Zealand, landscapes that will blow you away, or just the locals walking into the shop to get an ice cream with no shoes or shirt on.
On the other hand if you’re like my wife and want to spend your New Zealand vacations on the beach, away from the crowds, you should think about going down there around February, March. I’ve been home 4 times in the past ten years and always arrive in the first week of February. All the kiwis have gone back to work, and the weather has been great. Our New Zealand vacations mean a lot of time with family but we also get our fair share of sun at the beach. We normally go up north to the Bay Of Islands for a week and just relax. But we also go swimming with the dolphins, and go on a catamaran cruise around the islands.
Whatever your case may be, do a little research before you go. Remember the seasons are opposite. In the southern hemisphere it’s winter, at the same time it’s summer in the northern hemisphere. Check out www.newzealand.com for more info. Cheers.

I am about to go to nz for christmas break to visit a friend. I want to backpack and maybe rent a car and kind of live out of it while I’m exploring. I fly into Aukland and my friend is in Queenstown so I will also need the car to get from a to b, doing my camping along the way. I just started researching places to check out. Any advice on finding a deal for renting a car? (Or other inexpensive ways to see the country?)
Thanks

When my wife and I go home, she always takes coupons for the major rental car companies. If you are planning on driving and have never driven on the left side of the road before, please be very careful. I even find it hard to get used to when I first get there. Hitchiking also used to be very popular in NZ, but i’ve never done it, so I wouln’t suggest it.
Have an awesome trp.
